About

Linda Stinchfield is an artist and graphic designer working in many mediums. Besides letterpress printing, current interests include printmaking, collage, bookbinding, and photography. In addition to these artistic pursuits, Linda plays the string bass—with more enthusiasm than skill— in a weekly Bluegrass jam.

Linda received a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College in picturesque western Massachusetts, majoring in Art History and Studio Art. She worked for many years in textbook design for Addison-Wesley Publishing, later Addison-Wesley Longman. Subsequent employment has includ- ed stays at Planet Magpie, Adobe Inc., and Cadence Design Systems.

Ms. Stinchfield and her husband share their home and letterpress studio with two dogs and assorted wildlife in the Santa Cruz mountains, on the coastal ridge separating Silicon Valley from the coast. She is a member of the Moxon Printers Chappel, Bay Area Book Artists, JumpStart Book Artists, and the Book Club of California.

Linda has exhibited her artwork in group shows at Menlo College, 23 Sandy Gallery in Portland, Oregon; Pajaro Valley Arts Gallery in Watsonville; the Euphrat Museum of Art at DeAnza College; and the Samford University Art Gallery in Birmingham, Alabama.
